Hosted by the City of London Corporation and Principles for Responsible Investment, the inaugural Green Finance Summit showcased the latest in green financial policy, market developments and thought leadership. Convening over 700 key business and political leaders from across the globe for high level discussions on the future of green finance.
Speakers included world-leading experts in green finance, from business and technology representatives to investors, financiers and high-level government figures. The Summit focused on commercial opportunity and how to achieve the “scaling-up” of green finance globally, as targeted by G20 leaders in September 2016.
Discussion on Day 1 addressed project finance and policy incentives, plus had parallel sessions focusing on Financing Transition in Latin American. Day 2 explored investor demand for green products, and the role of corporates as both potential green issuers and investors. All discussions made clear the primacy of private-sector and investor leadership, mixing set piece podium speeches with deep-dives into key policy and market areas.
Latin American stream co-hosted with Canning House, Eversheds Sutherland, and CAF.
