In early July, the Green Finance Summit gathered a global audience of 850 to showcase the latest in green finance developments. With an agenda focusing on investment in climate action, high profile speakers such as Hoesung Lee, Chair, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change; Mary Robinson, Chair, The Elders; António Horta-Osório, CEO, Lloyds Banking Group and John Glen MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury spoke of the imperative to act and outlined how all economic actors can lead to increase commitments in the transition towards a resilient, low-carbon economy.
The event sponsored by Lloyds Banking Group, silver sponsors Ashurst LLP, Green Investment Bank and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. is one of the largest green finance events hosted in London and highlights were the launch of the government Green Finance Strategy including the announcement of a Green Finance Education Charter; plus the much-anticipated launch of the new Green Finance Institute.
