Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister, Simon Kirby MP, attended the press briefing and report launch for Green Finance as his first event in the City in his new ministerial role.
He joined Sir Roger Gifford, Chair of the Green Finance Initiative, Elliott Harris Assistant Secretary-General, United Nations, Sean Kidney, head of the Climate Bonds Initiative and Michael Sheren, senior adviser to the Bank of England to talk about how green finance can provide a fast route to a cleaner future.
The Economic Secretary used the opportunity to add his support to green finance, saying that tapping the financial market for renewable energy, clean water and other green projects, is a “top priority” for the new government.
